Authorities say that on July 11, an accident occurred when a westbound 18-wheeler truck struck a pedestrian on Ley Road at Wayside Drive. According to reports, the truck attempted a turn when the pedestrian, Lisa Smith, stepped into its path and was hit.

Authorities suggest that Smith may have been outside of a crosswalk when the accident occurred. Smith sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
