Laurens County, SC — September 17, 2023, Lindsey Billings and James Lewis were killed following a tractor-trailer accident at around 10:45 a.m. along I-385.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred along northbound lanes of Interstate 385 in the area of mile marker 16.
According to officials, 38-year-old Lindsey Diane Billings and 55-year-old James Scott Lewis were on a motorcycle which was going along the interstate. Somehow, it appears a tractor-trailer crashed into the back of the motorcycle, ejecting both Billings and Lewis.
As a result of the crash, Billings and Lewis sustained fatal injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Authorities have not confirmed a cause for the crash nor whether or not they plan to file charges. Investigations are ongoing at this time.
