Houston, TX — August 11, 2024, Leroy Randolph Jr. was injured following a car accident at around 3:15 a.m. along East Loop 610 South.
According to officials, the accident took place at the Loop 610 and East Freeway/I-10 interchange.

It appears that 38-year-old Leroy Randolph Jr. and four others were in a pickup going along the transfer ramp from westbound I-10 to East Loop 610 S. While rounding the ramp, the vehicle somehow crashed into the barriers. As a result, Randolph was seriously injured. The other occupants had possible minor injuries.
Right now, other specifics can’t be confirmed.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
While it’s always important to find out what caused an accident, there’s another aspect people generally don’t consider: what caused the injuries. The reason I bring that up is because generally when multiple people are in the same vehicle in a crash, they’re going to sustain at least somewhat similar injuries. There could be circumstances that change this, such as a vehicle hitting an object on just one side, for example. Other times, though, it can be a sign something that was supposed to protect the occupants in the vehicle didn’t work properly. Could it be that the victim had a defective seatbelt or airbag? Did the seating assembly break loose? Were there other extenuating circumstances here authorities haven’t addressed? Perhaps nothing unusual happened here, but it’s important to let the evidence speak for itself.
