Brownsville, TX — June 27, 2025, a child was killed as the result of a daycare van accident at around 4:56 p.m. along Paredes Line Road.
Preliminary statements about the accident say that it happened at The Learning Club Pre School, located off Paredes Line Road and Morrison Road.
According to officials, a 4-year-old was found inside a van at the daycare. The child was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Currently, one person has been arrested and charged for injury to a child causing death.
The incident remains under investigation.

Every year in the warmer months, we unfortunately tend see at least a couple of incidents like the one described here. Obviously, if someone’s actions (or inaction) contributed to this accident, then they’re going to answer for those actions legally. But beyond that, there has to be consideration not just for what went wrong but also how it can be avoided in the future.
As important as individual accountability is, people want to be sure others won’t suffer a similar fate. If a daycare can’t give people confidence that they’ve resolved the issues that led to a fatal accident, then it’s only reasonable people would no longer trust that daycare with their children. Not only that, but if there were steps the daycare could have taken to prevent this, it’s important to know why they didn’t.
