UPDATE (December 12, 2023): Reports now give more details about the crash, including the victim’s name. They say that 65-year-old Lawrence Urban was the driver of the Ford Explorer SUV involved in the accident.

Recent information claims that the crash began after a dump truck pulling a woodchipper somehow lost control. This led to the dump truck colliding with Urban’s SUV, following which an 18-wheeler then hit Urban’s vehicle. Two people from the dump truck had unspecified injuries, according to news outlets. No further information is available right now.

It’s unclear what exactly led to the dump truck apparently losing control. It could have been anything from distracted driving to a tire blowout to a medical emergency. My concern is that nearly a week later, authorities haven’t released much more information. It could be that they know more than they’re telling the public, but I’ve seen a lot of accidents over the years where authorities didn’t say much to the public because they actually weren’t able to give the accident the attention it needed. Is that what’s happening here?
