UPDATE (February 19, 2024): Another of the three women who were injured as a result of this accident has been identified as 19-year-old Kirsten Codrington.
San Antonio, TX — January 23, 2024, Laila Star Thompson and three others were injured in a car accident at 6:00 in the evening along Babcock Road.
According to reports, a 25-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Ford Ranger pickup truck on Babcock Road in the vicinity north of Eagle Ledge when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It allegedly veered left, crossing over the center line and entering the northbound lane of traffic. This resulted in a collision with an oncoming Honda Civic occupied by three 19-year-old women. Two of those women—one of which was Laila Star Thompson—and the man from the pickup truck incurred suspected severe injuries, while the third woman from the Honda sustained apparently moderate injuries. All four victims were transported to a local hospital by emergency medial services in order to receive necessary treatment.
