Fannin County, TX — September 1, 2023, Kenneth Duckworth was killed in a pedestrian-car accident around 9:40 p.m. on Hwy. 78 in Fannin County.
Authorities report the 87-year-old victim was on Highway 78 when he was purportedly struck by a Ford F-150.
Mr. Duckworth sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck reportedly left the scene of the crash but was later identified when the driver contacted authorities. The pickup truck driver allegedly told authorities he believed a bird had collided with his passenger side mirror and caused the mirror to fold in, but later saw the mirror was broken. Investigators report the pickup truck driver also said he had been drinking an hour before the accident.
