As straight-forward as this all may seem, victims and families involved in a car wreck should have as much evidence telling their side of the story as possible. To that end, working quickly to preserve evidence should be a priority. Just because authorities have someone to blame doesn’t always mean they’re securing vehicle data, cellphone records, vehicle inspections, debris analysis, and other important, often time-sensitive details. So it’s important folks either confirm authorities are taking those steps or otherwise get the crash in the hands of independent professionals who will.
