Chambers County, TX — October 14, 2023, Juvencio Hernandez Sr. was killed following a pedestrian accident at around 1:30 a.m. along Highway 61.
Authorities said in preliminary public statements that the incident happened in the area of the Highway 61 and South Texas Avenue intersection.
Details suggest that 53-year-old Juvencio Canelo Hernandez Sr. was on foot at the time when he reportedly tried to cross at the intersection. While doing so, an eastbound driver did not avoid Hernandez in time, and the vehicle struck Hernandez.
Hernandez sustained fatal injuries due to the collision. The driver had no reported injuries. Authorities did not report any citations or charges, and additional factors surrounding the accident are unavailable.
