Harris County, TX — March 2, 2024, Justin Wayne Montemayor was killed as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 11:20 p.m. along Wade Road.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened in the area of Wade Road and North Battlebell Road.

Officials said that 36-year-old Justin Montemayor was on a Honda motorcycle going northbound on Wade Road. While doing so, a BMW SUV apparently failed to control speed and hit Montemayor from behind. Montemayor was thrown from the bike, resulting in fatal injuries. It appears the other driver is known to authorities, but no charges were reported.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If the details here are true, this is an example of why it’s so frustrating when people blame safe motorcyclists for crashes just because they think all riders are dangerous drivers. I’ve worked with enough motorcyclists and their families over the years to know most of them are incredibly safe drivers. In fact, it’s the behavior of drivers in larger vehicles that usually force them to be abundantly cautious. That’s why I hope this crash got the attention it deserved. I’d hate to hear this was yet another situation where bias against a motorcyclist led to false conclusions.
