Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People often write off single-vehicle wrecks, but they can be quite a bit more complex than people realize. Even authorities sometimes see them as a low priority. That can lead to important questions going overlooked.

What were road conditions like? Did a tire blowout? Did the vehicle experience mechanical issues? Was there a medical emergency? Have authorities pulled cellphone or GPS data? Are there any nearby businesses or homes with cameras that caught the crash on video?

These are the kinds of questions I generally see answered when independent accident reconstructionists look into a crash. If authorities are answering the same questions, that’s good. If not, then there may need to be a second set of eyes looking things over so nothing important slips through the cracks.
