Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There certainly isn’t enough information public right now to comment on what did or didn’t happen here. However, I always have inherent concerns when accidents involve bicyclists. Frankly, a lot of people are quick to automatically blame bicyclists and pedestrians. However, it’s important that investigations are unbiased and take time to consider all possible contributing factors. Anything from lack of signage to poor lighting to alcohol to road design flaws can contribute to an accident like this. Families at least deserve to know they’re getting the full story so they can make the most informed decision possible going forward. Has that happened here?
