UPDATE (March 14, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify what happened during this accident. According to these reports, a Dodge Challenger was at a stop north-facing in a private drive preparing to make a right turn onto Spring Valley Road when the accident took place.
At the same time, 26-year-old Joselin Borjas Paogada and a 4-year-old girl were walking westbound on the sidewalk on the south side of Spring Valley Road. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Charger failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrians in the sidewalk. The Charger reportedly struck the two pedestrians dragging them along underneath for some distance. The 4-year-old girl came to rest in the right-most eastbound lane; Paogada came to rest in the left most of the eastbound lanes.
Dallas, TX — February 20, 2024, Joselin Borjas Paogada and a 4-year-old girl were killed in a pedestrian versus car accident shortly before 4:00 p.m. along Spring Valley Road.
According to authorities, Joselin Borjas Paogada and her four-year-old daughter were attempting to cross Spring Valley Road on foot in the vicinity of Esperanza Road when the accident occurred.
The causal factors that led to the collision are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, both Paogada and the young girl were struck by a Dodge Challenger. Reports state that both victims incurred fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
