Harris County, TX — November 18, 2023, Jose Eliberto Ramos was killed following a car accident just after midnight along Lillja Road.
Investigators said in their initial statements that the crash happened in the area of the Lillja Road and Hollyvale Drive intersection.
According to officials, 46-year-old Jose Eliberto Ramos was in a Dodge Ram 1500 going southbound along Lillja. The vehicle ended up going off the left side of the roadway where it crashed into an embankment. As a result of the crash, Ramos sustained fatal injuries.
Right now, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.

This early in the morning, folks may be quick to assume the drivers was intoxicated or fatigued. Those are common factors that absolutely warrant attention, but blaming the victim isn’t going to do any good. Likely or not, there are all kinds of factors that can cause single vehicle wrecks.
Mechanical defects, road hazards, distraction, medical conditions, tire failure, bars over-serving drivers, objects or animals in the road, another driver who fled the scene—common or not, these are all possibilities a prudent investigator will consider. Some of these things a driver can avoid, some of them they can’t. The goal shouldn’t be to look for blame; the goal should be to get answers for the victim’s loved ones. Whether or not authorities have taken steps to do that since they released this preliminary information has yet to be seen.
