UPDATE (June 5, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify the fact that two people from the Toyota Corolla—67-year-old Jose Delarosa and a 63-year-old woman—suffered moderate injuries as a result of this accident, as well. The occupant of the Ford Escape was apparently uninjured. The identity of the deceased pedestrian has not yet been confirmed. The investigation continues.

Harris County, TX — May 19, 2024, a man was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident shortly before 12:30 a.m. along North Freeway, I.H. 45.

According to authorities, a 41-year-old man was on foot in the shoulder on the right side of the road for the northbound lanes of the North Freeway in the vicinity of Crosstimbers Street when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the man was struck by a northbound Toyota Corolla as well as a Ford Escape. The pedestrian reportedly suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.

Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
