Lamar County, TX — January 29, 2024, John Dee Pickering was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident just before 6:45 p.m. along Farm to Market 1497.
According to authorities, a 61-year-old woman was traveling in a westbound Hyundai Elantra exiting a private driveway onto F.M. 1497 in the vicinity north of F.M. 1184 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Elantra attempted a left turn onto southbound F.M. 1497 at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the Elantra and a northbound motorcycle occupied by 66-year-old John Dee Pickering.
Pickering reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
