Harris County, TX — December 21, 2022, Joel Gonzalez Perez and two others were injured in a car accident around 7:20 a.m. on Beaumont Hwy. in Harris County.
Sources report Mr. Gonzalez Perez and his passenger were in a southbound Kia Sportage on Sheldon Rd. when they collided with a westbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, with only one occupant. The front passenger side of the Sportage’s nose purportedly struck the rear passenger side of the Grand Cherokee.
Officials report all three victims suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical attention. Additionally, authorities report both drivers alleged they had the green light to pass through the intersection and that authorities were unable to determine what light was green.
The speed limit for Sheldon Rd. is 45 mph and the speed limit for Beaumont Hwy. is 55 mph. Authorities allege the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the incident.
