Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People tend to think single-vehicle wrecks are simple because they only involve one vehicle. In reality, they can present unique challenges that require asking complex questions. Did the vehicle have any defects? Did airbags and seatbelts function properly? Is the road in poor condition? Was the driver unlawfully over-served by a bar? Did missing signage or lighting contribute to the crash? Did medical conditions play a role? Likely or not, these factors are worth attention, yet authorities don’t often have the tools, training, or patience to do so. That can mean that folks involved in a single-vehicle wreck like need a second set of eyes in order to tell their side of the story. Are steps being taken to see that happens here?
