Marion County, KS — December 13, 2023, Jessica Henson and her daughter were killed in a truck accident shortly after 11:10 a.m. along U.S. 56.
According to authorities, 43-year-old Jessica Henson and her reportedly elementary aged daughter were traveling in a Hyundai Elantra along U.S. Highway 56 approaching the 250th street intersection when the accident took place.
An 18-wheeler had reportedly come to a stop in the lane of travel ahead in a construction zone as it awaited direction from a flagger. For unknown reasons, the Elantra collided with the back end of the 18-wheeler; both Henson and her daughter were declared deceased due to injuries incurred in the accident. No additional injuries were reported.
