Killeen, TX — June 30, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a motorcycle accident at about 11:45 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

According to authorities, two men ages 39 and 27 were traveling on a northbound motorcycle on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard approaching the Hackberry Drive intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the motorcycle may have been traveling at high speeds in the time leading up to the accident. A southbound cargo van on MLK Blvd. was reportedly attempting a left turn onto Hackberry drive when the northbound motorcycle crashed into it.

The 39-year-old man who had been on the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. The 27-year-old sustained critical injuries, according to reports, and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
