How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports about this crash reference a tire blowout, so investigators should work to determine if the tire was poorly maintained or failed due to a manufacturer’s defect as part of their probe.
Investigators still should complete traditional aspects of crash investigation: evidence from the scene, electronic data from both vehicles and available dashcam footage, if there is any. These elements will help provide answers for those affected by this crash, but they can’t ignore reports of a tire blowout.
