Victoria County, TX — June 6, 2024, James Willis was injured following a car accident shortly after 3:45 p.m. along U.S. Highway 59.

According to authorities, 46-year-old James Willis was traveling in a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck on U.S. 59 at the Midway Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Ford F-350 pickup truck towing a gooseneck trailer in the median crossover attempted to cross the northbound lanes of the highway to head north on Midway at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to northbound traffic at a yield sign. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the F-150 and the right side of the trailer.

Willis suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
