UPDATE (June 24, 2024): The motorcyclist who lost his life as a result of this accident has been identified as 21-year-old Jakob Lopez. Recent reports have been release which clarify that, as it was allegedly traveling at high speeds, it collided with the back left of a Nissan Rogue occupied by 29-year-old Rhiannon Rodriguez and a 30-year-old man. The collision caused the Rogue to veer to the right where it collided with a roadside barrier. Another vehicle—a Ford Fusion occupied by 43-year-old Juan Manuel Guajardo Jr. and a 29-year-old man—also struck Lopez and the motorcycle where they had come to rest in the active lanes of the highway. Both occupants of the Nissan as well as both occupants in the Ford reportedly suffered minor injuries, as well, according to reports. The investigation is still ongoing.
Corpus Christi, TX — May 17, 2024, a motorcyclist was killed following a car accident at approximately 3:00 a.m. along South Padre Island Drive.
According to authorities, a 21-year-old man was traveling on a westbound motorcycle on South Padre Island Drive in the vicinity of Everhart Drive when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that the motorcycle may have been traveling at high speeds leading up to the crash. It reportedly struck another motor vehicle. Preliminary reports state that two additional vehicles were also somehow involved in the crash, though there are no details available as to how, at this point in time.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not currently available. The investigation is ongoing.
