Paris, TX — September 29, 2023, Ismael Claudio Moreno was fatally injured due to a car accident Friday morning along Lamar Avenue.
According to current statements in the news, the accident occurred at approximately 5:44 a.m. near the intersection of Lamar Avenue/U.S. Highway 82 and SE Loop 286.
The Paris Police Department released an initial statement about the incident. They say that a pedestrian was in the parking lot of Applebee’s at the time. Details identified the pedestrian as 81-year-old Ismael Claudio Moreno. In a series of events unclear, it appears a vehicle struck Moreno, then left the scene.
Moreno was seriously injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Reports say Moreno passed away on October 1. Police say they arrested the suspect driver, and there appears to be a pending charge for accident involving death. No further information is available at this time.
