Dade County, MO — February 28, 2024, one person was injured in a hit-and-run truck accident shortly before 7:30 p.m. along State Route E.
According to authorities, the accident took place on State Route E in the vicinity south of Arcola.
The causal factors that led to the crash are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between an 18-wheeler and an SUV. Photographs of the scene which have been published in the news depict the aftermath of the wreckage; the driver’s side of the SUV was nearly shorn off. The person(s) in the 18-wheeler allegedly fled the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. One person from the SUV reportedly sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to a local medical facility in order to receive necessary treatment.
