Authorities say that on May 24, an accident occurred when an eastbound Hyundai rear-ended a dump truck on Pulaski Highway. According to reports, the Hyundai hit the dump truck as the truck slowly passed through an area of the highway.
Officials confirmed the Hyundai driver, 31-year-old Heather Rodriquez, sustained severe injuries in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital. While at the hospital, Rodriquez died due to her injuries. The dump truck driver reportedly escaped the crash with no injuries.
Investigators are continuing to investigate the accident.
