UPDATE (June 28, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details related to this accident. According to these reports, for as yet unknown reasons, a 45-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The striking vehicle allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. The man was then struck by a Ford F-150 where he had come to rest in the roadway. His injuries were fatal and he was declared deceased upon the arrival of emergency personnel. The investigation into this hit-and-run accident is still ongoing.
Ector County, TX — June 9, 2024, one person was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident shortly after 1:30 a.m. along East 8th Street.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was in the roadway at the 8th Street and Allred Avenue intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by a westbound Ford F-150 that had been traveling on East 8th Street. The victim suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
