Horseshoe Bay, TX — November 4, 2023, two people were injured in a golf cart accident just after 11:30 in the morning along Big Spur Road.

According to authorities, two men—one age 61 and the other age 78—were traveling in a northbound golf cart on High Stirrup approaching the Big Spur intersection when the accident occurred.

For reasons which have yet to be confirmed, the golf cart attempted a left hand turn onto Big Spur at unsafe speeds. The vehicle veered off of the right side of the roadway where it rolled into a ditch and came to rest on the passenger side. The 78-year-old passenger incurred reportedly severe injuries to his leg and was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services for treatment. The driver also sustained minor injuries but refused to be transported for treatment. Reports indicate that the 61-year-old was taken into custody for reasons pending confirmation.

The accident is still under active investigation by local authorities. Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the incident were reportedly cloudy and dry. There are not currently any additional details available.
