UPDATE (April 4, 2023): Authorities released details identifying the woman killed in the accident as 52-year-old Gladys Moreno Garcia. Those details said the vehicle that left the scene was a red 2008 Chrysler 300 driven by a 52-year-old man. It’s unclear if anyone has been arrested or charged.

Fort Worth, TX — March 20, 2023, a woman was killed due to an accident where a vehicle hit her, then left the scene.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Berry Street and Mitchell Boulevard. Officials said that a woman was walking at the time when a vehicle hit her. That vehicle, currently not described by authorities, left the scene. The woman sustained fatal injuries.

It’s frustrating to see so few details about this awful even, but it’s an all too common situation. But it’s important to keep in mind that simply talking about these hit-and-runs in the public can help lead to a conclusion. Someone in the community is often able to connect the dots and come forward to help police identify someone. I believe that continued efforts here from authorities and the community as a whole could lead to a breakthrough in due time.
