Hartley County, TX — August 12, 2024, George Garcia was injured following an 18-wheeler accident at around 9:15 p.m. along F.M. 722.
According to information from authorities, the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 385 and F.M. 722, just north of Channing.
Investigators said that 52-year-old George Garcia was in a Dodge Ram pickup going southbound along F.M. 722. At the intersection with U.S. Highway 385, a northbound semi-trailer reportedly crashed into the Dodge as Garcia entered the crossing. Due to the collision, George Garcia was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported.
There is no further information about the crash confirmed at this time.

Something to consider after any serious truck wreck is that initial reports rarely tell the whole story. As concerning as certain details are in these preliminary statements, extenuating circumstances could come to light that changes things. Maybe there was missing signage. Maybe there were issues with visibility. Maybe the truck’s lights were off. Maybe the victim’s brakes failed. There could even be issues with safety devices the victim didn’t even know about. At the end of the day, if authorities don’t consider these possibilities, they’re bound to overlook something important. Are they being thorough here, or are they missing something?
