Authorities indicate that on October 5, a fatal accident occurred when two vehicles collided near Hamilton. Police say a Chevrolet Malibu was heading west along State Highway 36 when it suddenly veered off the road. The Malibu reportedly attempted to correct its course, entered the westbound lanes, and collided head-on with an oncoming Ford pickup. The cause of the crash has not been released at this time.
Officials confirmed that the Malibu driver, Frankie Torres, 51, suffered fatal injuries. The pickup driver was reportedly taken to an area hospital and released. No other injuries were reported.
