According to officials, 44-year-old Fernando Garcia was in a Dodge Challenger that was going eastbound along the main lanes of the expressway. Ahead, police say that there was a Saturn Vue stationary in the lane of travel. Garcia reportedly attempted to avoid the Saturn, but the vehicles collided. This caused the Saturn to overturn and Garcia’s vehicle to run across an on-ramp.
Garcia was said to have injuries described as incapacitating due to the collision. The other driver had no listed injuries. Police allege that the driver of the Saturn was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
