Lewisville, TX — April 29, 2025, Everto Rodriguez was killed as the result of a work accident that took place along Kathryn Drive.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened in a neighborhood off Fox Avenue and Garden Ridge Boulevard.
At this time, details about the accident are unclear. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said that 59-year-old Everto Rodriguez was on the job and sustained fatal injuries. The cause of the accident remains unconfirmed.
OSHA did not report any alleged violations or recommended penalties. The case status is listed as “closed.”

It’s unfortunately common for OSHA to release so few details about a deadly work accident. What might surprise people to learn is just how often a sparse explanation like this is all the family gets to see, as well.
At the end of the day, OSHA has their own priorities to focus on, and that doesn’t always align with the needs of a worker’s loved ones. That’s why many families have to rely on independent investigators to get them the answers they need and to help navigate Texas work fatality laws (which are the most complex in the country).
It would be good to hear if authorities were more thorough behind the scenes here to ensure the family got the resolution they deserved. However, it’s not something I’d ever take for granted.
