Pasadena, TX — August 12, 2023, Evelin Lopez and another were hurt following an alleged hit-and-run accident before midnight along Burke Road.
Preliminary details about the accident said that it took place at approximately 11:42 p.m. in the area of the Burke Road and Vista Road intersection.
According to authorities, 18-year-old Evelin Lopez and a 37-year-old woman were in a Jeep Renegade said to be going southbound along Burke. For reasons not entirely clear, the Jeep crashed with a Toyota Sienna also reportedly going southbound. The Toyota driver then allegedly left the scene but was later arrested.
Lopez and the other woman in the Jeep both had injuries described as non-incapacitating. There were no other confirmed injuries. Statements from Harris County officials indicate there is a pending charge for failure to stop and render aid. No further information can be reported at this time.
