Groveton, VA — March 23, 2023, eight people were injured in a collision including three passenger cars and a fire truck around 5:19 p.m. at Richmond Hwy. and Memorial St. in Groveton.
According to authorities, eight people were transported to a local hospital after a crash between three passenger vehicles and one fire truck.
Of the injured, four are reportedly members of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, two of the injured are from a passenger vehicle, and the other two are suspected to have been from other vehicles. It is not clear if the four people in passenger vehicles were all in one vehicle or in different vehicles.
One of the injured reportedly suffered serious injuries and was transported in critical condition, but then recovered enough for the injuries to be considered non-life-threatening.
The cause of the crash needs further investigation. There are no other updates at this time.
