San Angelo, TX — June 29, 2024, Dustin Patino was fatally injured due to a golf cart accident at around 6:15 p.m. off Club House Lane.
Authorities said in initial statements that the accident happened at the intersection of Club House Lane and Enclave Court.
According to police officials, 41-year-old Dustin Patino was a passenger in a golf cart being driven along Club House Lane. While the cart was turning onto Enclave, it appears Patino fell out of the vehicle and onto the roadway. Patino sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, but he later died due to the injuries.

The driver of the golf cart was reportedly charged with intoxication assault and was allegedly nearly twice the legal limit. It’s unclear at this time if any additional or upgraded charges are being considered. These details are similar to many cases I’ve handled over the years where a driver was charged for intoxication assault after an accident that injured my client. However, I can’t recall any off the top of my head that involved a golf cart. It makes me wonder why this atypical vehicle was involved and what else might have led up to the accident that authorities haven’t released to the public.
