San Antonio, TX — January 7, 2026, a child and two others were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident around 3:54 p.m. along Culebra Road.
According to officials, the crash took place in the area of Arcadia Creek, Grissom Road and Tezel Road.
Investigators said that two vehicles were going in the same direction on Culebra. Those vehicles somehow crashed, leading to a secondary head-on collision. Both drivers in the head-on collision and a 6-year-old child involved had reported injuries, some serious.
Authorities say that one of the drivers, a 28-year-old woman, was intoxicated at the time. They recommended charges for intoxication assault.

If the allegations here are true, it’s important for investigators to distinguish between whether drugs or alcohol led to the crash. That may not seem like an important distinction, but it is under Texas law. Let me explain.
I’ve handled hundreds of cases involving drunk drivers. Many of those cases involved drivers who were unlawfully over-served by a bar, liquor store, restaurant, or other venue. If that happens, and it leads to an accident, then both the alleged drunk driver and the negligent alcohol provider can face consequences for their role in the accident.
So if alcohol was the intoxicant that led to this crash, there could be more to this than just an individual reckless driver. There could be a local establishment putting the public at risk. Letting them fly under the radar just because there’s potentially a drunk driver to pin the blame on wouldn’t be fair to the victims or the community as a whole.
