Southlake, TX — February 27, 2023, Dominick Muzquiz was killed in a car accident around 6:26 p.m. while eastbound on W. Southlake Blvd. in Southlake.
According to officials, Dominick Muzquiz was traveling eastbound when a westbound Ford Focus attempted a left turn, from W. Southlake Blvd onto Timber Lake Place. Mr. Muzquiz’s motorcycle struck the back passenger side door of the Ford Focus. Officials report the collision fatally injured Dominick Muzquiz and the Ford driver was uninjured.
Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident. The intersection has no stop sign or stop light, but it does have a protected turn-only lane allowing vehicles to turn onto Timber Lake Place or to conduct a U-turn. Authorities report the road is straight and flat with no bumps or curves impeding vision, and they say the weather was sunny and clear.
It is clear the cause of the collision will need further investigation.
