Denton County, TX — April 11, 2024, one person was killed while Dlynne Shelton and one other were injured in a car accident just after 4:15 p.m. along Locust St.
According to authorities, 49-year-old Dlynne Shelton was traveling in a northbound Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck along Locust Street, F.M. 2164, at the intersection with the westbound exit ramp from Loop 288 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Toyota Corolla occupied by a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man failed to stop and yield at the stop sign for the Locust Street intersection. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the front-end of the pickup truck and the left side of the Corolla.
The 26-year-old man from the Toyota suffered reportedly fatal injuries due to the wreck. Shelton and the woman from the Corolla were both severely injured. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
