Harris county, TX — August 25, 2024, Diego Quevedo was killed and Minh Hieu Le was injured following a car accident at around 10:45 p.m. along Interstate 45.
Preliminary details about the accident say that the crash happened along northbound lanes of the North Freeway in the area of Medical Center Boulevard.
According to initial details, 19-year-old Diego Quevedo and 19-year-old Minh Le were in a Toyota Corolla going along I-45. As the vehicle traveled along the freeway, it somehow lost control and crashed along the median barrier. The vehicle then overturned across lanes of travel. Due to the crash, Quevedo sustained fatal injuries. Le was reportedly seriously injured.

A common issue I see with accidents involving young drivers is people jumping to conclusions. They just assume the driver must have been speeding or on their phone. Those are common factors worth considering, but investigations must also consider all kinds of other possible factors. Otherwise, they could miss something important.
Did the driver have any medical conditions? Did a tire blowout? Was the vehicle experiencing mechanical issues? Did the crash happen due to someone unlawfully providing alcohol to the driver? Is the road itself in disrepair? Was there another driver involved who left the scene? Did things like airbags and seatbelts function properly? Simply put, if authorities aren’t considering these possibilities, they’re bound to miss something important.
