Houston, TX — April 23, 2024, Deputy John Coddou was killed following a pedestrian versus pickup truck accident at approximately 9:30 a.m.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Deputy John Coddou had pulled his vehicle over exited it in order to help with a minor accident that had occurred in the area.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a Chevrolet pickup truck swerved into the median area in an attempt to avoid a collision with Coddou’s vehicle. There, however, the pickup truck reportedly struck Coddou, who incurred reportedly critical injuries as a result. He was flown to an area hospital in by helicopter in order to receive immediate treatment; however, he was ultimately unable to overcome the extent of his injuries, having there been declared deceased.
