Harris County, TX — September 28, 2025, two people were killed following a plane crash that happened at the David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport.
Initial statements about the accident say it happened in the afternoon by the airport, located off Stuebner Airline Road and FM 2920.
According to current statements, two “seniors” were in a Cessna twin-engine airplane that had taken off from the airport. Reports say the plane experienced unspecific mechanical issues after take-off. The pilot reportedly attempted to return to the runway, but the plane crashed.

My hope is that authorities are taking care to examine these supposed mechanical issues and consider the possibility of some kind of defect. Common or not, it takes clear evidence to rule out that sort of thing. The victims’ loved ones deserve to know they’re getting the full story.
