Sherman, TX — December 8, 2023, David Charles Gibson was injured following a motorcycle accident at around 11:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 75.
According to officials, the crash took place in the area of North Loy Lake Road.
It appears 39-year-old David Gibson was on a Suzuki motorcycle traveling northbound along the highway service road. While approaching the on-ramp, it appears the motorcycle somehow went off-road and fell over, ejecting Gibson. Gibson reportedly sustained serious injuries. No one else was involved in the accident, according to authorities.
The cause of the crash hasn’t been confirmed.

Generally, people would understand that without all the facts, a crash can involve anything from road hazards to hit-and-runs to mechanical defects to tire blowouts. But when the victim is a motorcyclist, that benefit of the doubt flies out the window. Folks often just assume all motorcyclists are dangerous drivers. I know that’s not true, but it takes a lot more clear evidence to overcome those biases than with typical single-vehicle wrecks. Hopefully authorities were thorough in finding out what exactly happened here.
