Bell County, TX — July 13, 2024, Darrin Simmons was injured following a motorcycle versus hit-and-run car accident at about 4:30 p.m. on Stagecoach Road.

According to authorities, 36-year-old Darrin Simmons was traveling on an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Stagecoach Road at the Featherline Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe on Stagecoach attempted a left turn to head south on Featherline at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic. This resulted in a collision between the motorcycle and the Tahoe. The Tahoe allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.

Simmons suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
