Nacogdoches County, TX — February 24, 2026, Darren Lane was killed in a truck accident at about 6 a.m. on State Highway 204 near Sacul.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2024 Kenworth semi-truck was backing up at the intersection with F.M. 1648 when it collided with an eastbound 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Jeep driver James Darren Lane, 58, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.
