UPDATE (July 9, 2024): According to recent reports, the 35-year-old man who had been behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck which allegedly struck and killed Daniel Scott has been located. No additional details are currently available. The investigation continues.
Big Spring, TX — June 15, 2024, Daniel Scott was killed in a pedestrian versus hit-and-run car accident at approximately 8:30 a.m. along North Owens Street.
According to authorities, 31-year-old Daniel Scott and one other person were on foot walking southbound on North Owens Street when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound motor vehicle—possibly a dark-colored Chevrolet 1500 extended cab pickup truck—struck Scott and fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.
Scott incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
