Ottawa County, MI — June 7, 2023, a Coopersville man sustained injuries following a semi-truck accident at around 12:20 a.m. along 80th Avenue.
Authorities with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said that the incident took place in the Polkton Township area.
Details suggest the events involved a semi-truck driven by a 64-year-old Coopersville man which was going northbound on 80th Avenue. That semi-truck, for reasons unclear, was involved in a collision with a tractor pulling a manure spreader. This collision resulted in the semi-truck jackknifing into southbound lanes where a second semi-truck crashed into it.
As a result of the collisions, the Coopersville man sustained reportedly serious injuries. It appears neither the tractor driver nor the driver of the other truck had serious injuries. Right now, no charges or citations have been confirmed. Investigations into factors surrounding the accident are ongoing.
