Fort Worth, TX — March 29, 2023, Christopher Simpson was killed as the result of a work accident at around 4:48 a.m. off NW Loop 820.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration released information in an accident investigation summary, which said the incident happened in the 500 block of S.W. Loop 820. This appears to be near Azle Avenue.
According to officials, 36-year-old Christopher Simpson was working with a crew laying down asphalt, and Simpson was said to be cleaning an intake auger at the time. While doing so, Simpson somehow became caught in the machine, and it resulted in fatal injuries.
In the investigation summary, OSHA officials listed one alleged serious citation as well as a recommended penalty for the employer of $15,625. The current status of the investigation is listed as “open” right now, and additional details are unavailable.
