Bexar County, TX — April 5, 2025, Christian Garcia was injured in a single-car accident shortly before 1:45 a.m. along Binz Engleman Road.
According to authorities, 22-year-old Christian Garcia was traveling in a westbound Mazda 6 on Binz Engleman Road in the vicinity west of Monarch Highway when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Mazda failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a fence.
Garcia reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When someone is seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash, people often assume the driver must have simply made a mistake. But after years of handling cases like these, I’ve seen too many examples where that assumption didn’t hold up. To get to the bottom of what really happened, there are three critical questions that should be asked.
First, did the authorities thoroughly investigate the crash? In cases like this, where a vehicle leaves the roadway and hits a fixed object, it’s vital to look at more than just the damage. Investigators should examine road conditions, signage, lighting, and the vehicle’s final position. Unfortunately, not every agency has the training or resources to conduct a detailed crash reconstruction, especially when only one vehicle is involved.
Second, has anyone considered whether a vehicle defect might have contributed to the crash? A sudden steering failure, tire blowout, or brake malfunction can all cause a vehicle to veer unexpectedly. But unless the vehicle is preserved and inspected by qualified experts, those mechanical issues might never be discovered. All too often, vehicles are disposed of before anyone has the chance to determine if something went wrong with the machine itself.
Finally, has all the available electronic data been collected? Modern vehicles often contain onboard data systems that can show what was happening in the moments leading up to the crash—speed, braking, steering input, and more. That information can be crucial in distinguishing between driver error and mechanical failure, yet it’s often overlooked unless someone acts quickly to secure it.
Understanding how and why a crash happened is essential—especially when someone has been seriously hurt. The answers don’t always come easily, but they can’t be found unless the right questions are pursued from the start. Asking these questions is the least that can be done to ensure that those affected by this crash get the clarity and closure they deserve.
