Lawrence County, MO — July 24, 2023, Charles Toler was fatally injured as the result of a semi-truck accident at around 12:57 p.m. along Route V.
According to information released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened approximately one mile west of Mount Vernon on Route V.

Initial details say that 38-year-old Charles Toler of Dadeville was in an International semi-truck that was going westbound along the highway. Statements in the news suggest Toler may have been moving over to “allow room on the road for a wheel loader” in oncoming lanes. While doing so, Toler’s truck somehow ended up going off-road where it then overturned.
As a result of the crash, Toler sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Reports did not say if anyone else was injured. Details about the operator of the wheel loader are unavailable, and it’s unclear if authorities have spoken to that driver. No further information about the accident is available at this time.
